The Hanoi People’s Committee has officially recognized the Huong Son Complex (Huong Pagoda), a national special relic located in Huong Son Commune, My Duc District, and the Hong Van Tourist Area in Hong Van Commune, Thuong Tin District, as city-level tourist sites.
The Huong Son Complex, located in Huong Son Commune, My Duc District, Hanoi, is a national special relic renowned for its majestic mountains, verdant Huong Son forest with three layers of vegetation, and the serene Yen Stream.
Built in the 15th century, the complex has undergone numerous restorations while preserving its historical and cultural significance. The site contributes to the rich and diverse cultural tapestry of Vietnamese Buddhism.
Each year, the Huong Pagoda welcomes some one million visitors to come and pay homage to Buddha, and enjoy the stunning natural, cultural and spiritual landscapes.
In 1962, the Ministry of Culture (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism) designated the Huong Pagoda as a national relic. On December 25, 2017, the Prime Minister ranked it as a national special relic.
Hong Van Commune, located along the Red River in Thuong Tin District, has been leveraging its strengths to become an attractive tourist destination, contributing significantly to the local economy.
In 2018, the craft village specializing in ornamental plants in Hong Van was recognized as a city-level tourist destination by the Hanoi People’s Committee. By the end of 2019, the commune was acknowledged for achieving the status of an advanced new rural area.
