The “Hanoi Fashion Journey 2024” and the “Rock: Hanoi, Home Coming” concert brought together creativity, culture, and music in an unforgettable celebration of the city’s youthful energy and artistic evolution.
A fashionable walk through time
The Hanoi Fashion Journey 2024 showcased the capital’s transformation through three symbolic chapters: “Old Hanoi,” “Integrating Hanoi,” and “Future Symbols of Hanoi.”
Designs by students from top universities across Vietnam painted a vivid picture of the city’s history and future.
“Old Hanoi” transported audiences back in time, drawing inspiration from traditional architecture, ethnic motifs, and age-old cultural stories.
Meanwhile, “Integrating Hanoi” blended tradition with modernity, using cutting-edge techniques to highlight the fusion of Eastern and Western influences in the city.

Finally, “Future Symbols of Hanoi” pushed boundaries with futuristic designs that incorporated advanced materials and technology, envisioning a sustainable and innovative Hanoi.
From water wave patterns to sacred animals, these creations demonstrated how tradition could seamlessly meet contemporary artistry.
The show wasn’t just about fashion, it was a platform for young designers to express their visions and bring applied arts closer to the community.
It celebrated Hanoi as a city where heritage and modernity coexist, carving out a distinctive identity on the global stage.
A rock revolution
As the last applause for the fashion show faded, the night exploded with the raw energy of the Rock: Hanoi, Home Coming concert. Local talent and legendary bands united to pay homage to Hanoi’s rock heritage while introducing fresh sounds to a new generation.

Emerging bands like Ly Buc and Blue Whales set the tone with their inventive approaches. Ly Buc energized the crowd with their grungy take on Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” while the Gen Z collective Blue Whales stunned audiences with powerful performances of their original tracks like “Lost” and “When Lotus Blooms.”
Veteran rock icons then took center stage, reminding fans why they had become legends. Thuy Trieu Do (Red Tide) reignited nostalgia with hits like “The Wandering Singer” and “Light of Mountain and Forest,” while Ngu Cung shook the square with their dynamic set, seamlessly merging youthful vigor and seasoned expertise.
Closing the show, Purple Blues brought the audience full circle with soulful covers of ABBA, The Beatles, and a fiery collaboration on Linkin Park’s “In The End” featuring James, the vocalist of Thuy Trieu Do.
Both the fashion show and concert were highlights of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2024, themed “Creative Crossroads.” Running from November 9-17, the festival spans multiple locations and features over 110 activities, including exhibitions, performances, and workshops in architecture, design, cinema, and more.

More than 500 creators, artists, and artisans have gathered to ignite Hanoi’s creative spirit. As the festival continues, residents and tourists can immerse themselves in the vibrant pulse of a city that celebrates its roots while embracing its future.
Hanoi’s fusion of fashion and rock wasn’t just a night of entertainment – it was a bold statement of the city’s resilience, creativity, and vision for tomorrow.
