Every December, the pomelo orchards in Phuc Dien Ward, Bac Tu Liem District, burst into color as the harvest season begins, painting the entire landscape in a brilliant shade of yellow.

People of Phuc Dien ward have always been proud to possess such a precious gift from nature. They insist that “Dien pomelo has been grown elsewhere in the north of Vietnam but only in Phuc Dien Ward could the fruit have a unique and distinctive fragrance and deliciousness.”

The grapefruit from Hanoi boasts a unique characteristic that no other fruit in Vietnam can rival. Dien pomelo is typically small, no larger than an adult’s fist, yet it packs an extraordinary flavor.

When ripe, the peel of the Dien pomelo is a golden yellow, and the pulp is delicately thin, with segments bursting with juicy sweetness. The fruit emits a captivating aroma, so fragrant that its scent lingers on one’s hands long after it has been touched. Remarkably, as the Dien pomelo tree ages, the fruit becomes smaller, yet its sweetness intensifies, offering a sharp, clear, and irresistible flavor.

During the harvest season, the Dien pomelo garden attracts not only wholesale buyers but also curious visitors, who are drawn by the chance to take photos and purchase the fresh fruit.
