For the first time, an international fashion and art event will be held in the historic Cuu Co Village on the outskirts of Hanoi. The event aims to help this traditional craft village integrate into the global scene while stimulating the local economy.
The Cuu Village Show, scheduled for December 21 and 22, in Cuu Village, Phu Xuyen District, will highlight the unique cultural heritage of the over 500-year-old settlement, situated along the peaceful Nhue River. The Phu Xuyen District Administration shared details of the event at a recent press briefing, emphasizing its role in promoting the village’s cultural significance.
The festival seeks to enhance international integration for the village while boosting local economic growth. It will also foster trade and tourism ties between Vietnam and Italy through various promotional activities, according to local officials.
Visitors will have the opportunity to witness the intricate process of crafting exquisite ceramics and decorative arts, from shaping and carving to pattern application, showcasing an essential part of Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage.
A major highlight of the event, “Meet The Arts,” will feature artistic works and traditional handcrafts such as ceramics, textiles, and decorative items created by local artisans. The “Meet The Poet” segment will provide a platform for poets from both countries to share and exchange selected works, offering an immersive experience in language and emotion.
A fashion show will unveil the latest collections that blend traditional elements with modern design. Designers will creatively reinterpret traditional attire, presenting both Vietnamese and Italian fashion with a contemporary twist.
The “Trade Development” workshop will bring together economists to discuss market development strategies. It will provide an opportunity for businesses to exchange ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration, strengthening competitiveness and fostering international trade between Vietnam, Italy, and Europe.
In the “Cooking School” segment, renowned chefs will demonstrate the culinary arts of both Vietnam and Italy through signature dishes. Attendees will have the chance to learn unique cooking techniques and the cultural stories behind each dish.
The “Meet The Music” session will showcase talented artists from both nations, blending traditional and modern music in a dynamic performance. Meanwhile, the “Meet The Tourism” corner will allow travel agencies from both countries to present stunning images and information about must-see destinations in Vietnam and Italy, sparking new travel exploration opportunities.
Local authorities believe that the festival will serve as a catalyst for strengthening cultural and economic exchanges while promoting sustainable partnerships between Vietnam, Italy, and other European nations.
