Starting January 1, 2025, visitors to the Hanoi Museum and two cultural heritage sites in the Old Quarter will be required to pay an entrance fee, the Hanoi People’s Committee has announced.

The new policy, outlined in a recent resolution, will apply to both domestic and international visitors to the Hanoi Museum as well as at the heritage sites located in Hanoi’s Old Quarter Area.

The entrance fee to Hanoi Museum will be VND30,000 or U$1.2, applicable from January 1, 2025, until the completion of the exhibition project. After  that, the fee will increase to VND50,000 or around $2 per visitor.

Admissions to the heritage sites at 22 Hang Buom Street and 87 Ma May Street in Hoan Kiem District cost VND20,000 or $0.8 each visit.

There is no charge for children under 16   and people  with severe disabilities. Additionally, visitors with disabilities, the elderly, students aged 16 and over, and those entitled to cultural benefits will receive a 50% discount.

The fee collection  will be managed by the Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board, in collaboration with the Hanoi Museum. Of the collected fees, 90% will be allocated to the managing units, while the remaining 10% will go to the State budget.
